Program: Honey and Rue (Andre Previn/Toni Morrison) Honey and Rue (1992) is a composition for soprano, orchestra, and jazz combo. This song cycle is a beautiful work of six poems that takes advantage of the strengths Toni Morrison’s evocative poetry and Andre Previn’s wide range of musical styles.

Concerto for Coloratura Soprano and Orchestra in F minor, Op. 82 (Reinhold Gliere) Gliere's Concerto for Coloratura Soprano and Orchestra in F minor Op.82 , composed in 1943, is an innovative work that features the soprano as the main instrument, but without words. Divided in two movements, the first Andante is filled with melancholy while the Allegro is light, warm and fast paced.

Fruhlingsstimmen (Johann Strauss) "Frühlingsstimmen," probably best known today from its use by the American slapstick comedy team The Three Stooges, is an orchestral waltz, with optional solo soprano voice, written in 1882 by Austrian composer Johann Strauss II. Also known as “Voices of Spring,” this work celebrates Springtime and remains one of the classical repertoire’s most famous waltzes.
